Hello- I never seem to have any problem regarding the searchability (SEO) of products on google once they have been configured in WP-ecommerce. I have used wp-ecommerce for 3 websites now , (including my own) and it never fails to make products searchable on main google search. I set up an online shop selling web templates (more of an exercise in using wp-ecommerce than anything else at the moment) and they are very searchable-even generic descriptions are pretty good. Try googling 'pale blue html template' and my website comes up no1 on google search results. The only issues I have had are with submitting a datafeed to Google Merchant Center so that the products are searchable on Google Shopping but that's more to do with formatting the CSV/text file and not really an issue regarding WP-Ecommerce. Considering that the basic version is free to use this really is an AWESOME plugin!

I really loved your article. I am working on a presentation, and I would love to use some of the info in this webpost in it. Is this fine? If so, I may also use a little of the material in my Internet Marketing blog, but I will definitely leave a source link to your post if I use any of your material. Anyway, I look forward to more of your great information and send me an email if I can help you at all.

@Jimba
Looked at your site and it seems to be working. Let me know if it is not. If not is it still just the t_string error that you're having problems with? Also, any and all details about modifications you may have made.

Hi David,

I'm looking to edit the page title (meta tag) of the homepage of http://www.valentijn-cadeaus.nl. All in one SEO doens't provide a solution. I sort of figured out the reason.

The website is of course wordpress with the wp ecommerce plugin. My post page is set to a subpage (not home page) en the front page is a static page, namely the products page.

Wp ecommerce is loaded inside a page, so it doesnt 'see' the difference between say the home page and a product detail page. So commands like 'if_home' or 'if_front_page' don't apply for editing the title tag. Also the seo title tag plugin doens't fix this problem.

So my challenge is to give the home page another title tag, while the product categorie pages, and product detailpages have the 'page title' as (meta) title tag.

I hope i made myself clear. Thanks for the quick respons! Greetz, Martijn
