What am I thankful for?

I am thankful for great clients who provide me with interesting work. When I quit my job as a crisis line director, I left 17 years of helping people in nonprofit settings. I thought I might miss that work, that after a while I might find my new profession less than meaningful. My work in nonprofits often paid little but it always fed the soul.

What I’ve discovered thanks to the wonderful people who hire me, is that I am still in a helping profession. I get to help people realize their dreams of having their own businesses, feed and shelter their families with their incomes - I am a part of all that and it makes me thankful for the work I do and the clients who I get to help.
