Excellent points you have here, and I agree that WordPress is &quot;tops&quot; over the other too -- we develop with it exclusively.  That said, I&#039;m not sure I agree with your conclusion that Website Trends proves more &quot;popularity&quot; than the general search trends do.  Probably both trend analysis methods lack a key metric -- installations.  It&#039;s one thing to search for a CMS, another to visit the home site, but the truest gauge of popularity is usage.  And of course when you throw in WordPress.com, the result is skewed in favor of WordPress -- but neither Joomla nor Drupal offer a hosted platform option.
